If an unmanaged VPS is an option there are a lot of cool hosts out there. But that would mean rolling a lot of tools for it to actually work. Load your own webmin cpanel? How do you apply SSL? What interface do you create things?

Unfortunatly this is a difficult one. Might be best to recommend Google apps, Outlook.com / Whatever cloud email microsoft can do. There's also protonmail and fastmail. With google you get other integrations, but it gets expensive the more people you add.
