This article is meant for notes on Fight Sticks / Arcade Sticks that are wired or wireless and hooked up to video game systems to play tournament fighters, arcade run and gun, shooters, beat 'em ups and more.

A couple fight sticks I have. The NES Design Bluetooth fight stick by 8bitdo. It hooks up to nintendo switch and other systems. I also have the Capcom Vs Tatsunoko fight stick for the Wii, which to my happiness works on the Super Nintendo Classic as well.

You can build your own arcade stick. Many people do. Because of the custom parts and nuances of sticks and buttons, their tactile feel and responsiveness, many people start narrowing down their favorite setup. From there, putting it into a case of some sort to sit on a table or lap and then the internal electronics to translate the micro switches into working predictable commands for the games.

The Super Retrocade is an interesting device, simple box with a good number of retrogames loaded, simple interface and included controllers. This might make for a good build for a mini arcade cabinet at least for the simplicity of the build, being able to customize it and providing arcade controls.

The popular joystick people used on the commodore 64 were the Speedlink Competition Pro and the TAC 2 Joysticks.

So one idea is to do a steampunk or vintage build in the line of say an art nouveau, art deco or late victorian feel to it. Doing so, arcade tops might need to be custom built of brass, copper or other steel look. to achieve this a threaded insert for other knobs will be needed. Either that or find out what standard threaded insert will work in millimeters or inches.
