Years ago, I used a tool called Delicious to store bookmarks online. Delicious suffered some performance and other issues I think being bought. Pinboard came along and worked well for a long time. In 2022 Pinboard has indicated that they want more money and while that's not a big deal I started thinking maybe it's time to reconsider hosting my bookmarks on a third party server having no ownership of it.

In the time I've used these other services, some open source apps have sprung up and may be good replacements for pinboard. Will they have import features to recover my pinboard links? Not sure. But perhaps there's some other conversion tools that can help me migrate them.
